Hi

I have an issue on DVD burning that has been troubling me for some time now. I have been burning DVD movies quite some time, and recently my burnt movies has been skipping or freezing towards the end. These movies were burnt only about a month ago and I have gone through each and every one of them by playing them on my DVD player, fast fowarding to the end. They all checked out OK at that time.

So the question is why are they failing only after one month, and all towards the end of the movie?

I even tried some DVDs burnt even more long ago and it plays fine. Just only the discs recently burned. Is it safe to say is the burner? If so, why it played OK before and failed now?

This is what I don't get. Can somebody help explain to me? Thanks!

Jacy

How the disks were stored can make a difference. How they are handled, what you used to write on the backside, the quality of the disks to begin with...
can all make a difference.
When the last time you cleaned the laser lens in the player?

Thanks for the feedback, let me provide more details:

Storage: All DVDs placed in cases, and stored in drawers.
Handling: Handled like all DVDs, usually try not even touching the layers when holding.
Writing: Used marker to write as label, the marker is a normal marker for white boards.
Brand: Sony

As for cleaning the player's laser, that I have not yet done, will try it. But how come the old ones play fine and the new ones fail?
