Hi! A while back I started having trouble with my PC. I've had the PC for about 4 years but the problems started occuring after I upgraded my GPU. The problem is that the computer shuts down and restarts very often. Sometimes it right after I start, sometimes it takes longer. I found out that running a game of some sort usually makes the PC keep running. When it's not in "idle" so to speak.
When I run it in safe mode it doesnt shut down either.

I don't know if it is a virus but last time I scanned the computer with Malware bytes it didn't show any viruses.

Does anyone know what the problem is? What is the best solution? Reinstall Windows and wipe the drives clean? I should add I'm running an SSD and a HDD, both with windows installed on them for some reason (SSD is first in boot prio).

Regards

Mathias

I have a Corsair 550VX at the moment and the GPU is recommended to run with a 500W PSU, is it likely that the PSU has gotten a bit lower in power supply during the years and that I need to get, let's say a new 550W or 600W PSU? And how is it possible that the computer is able to run for a longer of period of time when not idling?

Thanks in advance!

What does yours say when it shuts off? Does it say "resuming windows" when turning it back on? My computer (fresh build) is doing the same thing, and Im thinking its the hard drive (which is 4-5 years old now).
