Wifi connects for a couple minutes, then disconnects immediately after

Hi,
I recently moved my PC lower down in my house as there wasn't enough space upstairs. This meant that effectively, I was moving closer to my router because I was going one floor below it rather than two above. However, even though it worked the first day, my wifi has been getting a bit weird. It will connect for about 2-3 minutes, and then disconnect and I have to unplug and plug back in my USB wifi adapter. The strange thing is though, is that I can still talk on Skype when I can't use the internet. When I go into the N and S Center, it will say Computer --- Multiple Networks -x- Internet. For the first couple of minutes it will just look like Computer --- Multiple Networks --- Internet.
How can I fix this?

P.S. I have a Netgear A6200 Wifi Adapter

That issue where you can use Skype but not general internet sites point to a name resolution issue, which most often is on the router/modem/ISP side rather than the PC but if you are the only one that happns to, not that in your case.

Check for a new driver for the adapter if you have not, also you can try to fully uninstall and re-install it (remove from device manager and run the setup again). Try doing an "ipconfig /flushdns" command at a dos prompt.

The strange thing is that nothing else in the house is having any problems with this...
