The higher the number next to SATA, the faster it will be. Ones that just say "SATA" don't provide a version. In this case, it's best to assume that these drives are SATA I. You want SATA II or better.

No enclosure uses the SATA spec, they use eSATA. It's much faster than usb but most people either don't have an eSATA port or only have one. Also there is only one version of eSATA, so I think you are getting detail on these confused.
