I reinstalled W8.1 recently and I just noticed that I had more than 2 days uptime even though turning it off every day.
So I remembered that the fast startup option exists, I turned that off last time and forgot about it. It is on by default.
So what I'm wondering is if this option affects my SSD in a bad way? How much data is saved for this to work? Hibernate was off by default as well I think.
What exactly does this fast startup option do? For some reason it feels like it is better with a clean and fresh start instead of continuing where you left off.. I don't really mind the extra seconds it takes to boot.
What are the pros and cons with fast startup?
