Ticking HDD, BSOD HDD related, HDD Copying Assistance

As the subject states I believe I have a dying hard drive, I get the occasional BSOD from it. My question is which software is the best for completely copying the HDD, it is a 500GB and I would be copying it to a 2TB, will it present any issues as well?

If you are getting a new hard drive, the hard manufacturer provides a cloning program for free, on their web sight.

At least the good brands do.
WD uses Acronis, a well respected program.

They also have a reliable downloadable test disk, so you see for sure if it is your drive.

If the drive fails, you can probably still recover it with Spinrite.

NO, don't get Spinrite, if you are just testing.
Spinnrite is a highly sophisticated repair, and data recovery program.
If you are just testing, all you need is the hard drive, manufacturers, FREE test program.

Spinrite is for recovering data on a hard drive that can't be read anymore.

It has many tool, including one that realign the heads, so it can be read again.
