Hi gang,

I've been collecting (own) parts since last February so I hope this isn't a totally mismatched system.

The system will have to do a little of everything: standard social media, video streaming, Photoshop, MS Word, and gaming. I like to play League of Legends, Watch Dogs, Tomb Raider and looking forward to Destiny in March.

I think the last part I need is a decent midrange GPU. I am leaning towards Asus GeForce GTX 760. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to keep it under $300.

Additionally, any gaming mouse advice?

Thanks for looking :)

I like MSI. ASUS does have a 970. It is called the STRIX. Honestly any brand will do as long as it is not the EVGA ACX. The ACX 2.0 is fine though.

The 970s do not use alot of power and in turn do not make alot of heat so any cooler design works well. Hell, the blower cards are only 2-4c warmer (same fan %) than the rest where as the reference cards are usually like 10c hotter or more with the same fan %.

Great idea! Shave some of the budget from the motherboard and put it into the graphics card. I would recommend the Asus Z97-A as a substitute. The 970 is a monster of a card.

I usually go with Asus but I'm not seeing one for the 970. Do you guys like MSI? Does the quality compare?

And the mobo is in the still boxed pile of parts awaiting build time :)

I will check out the mouse suggestions. Thanks mangodrinker!

Thanks! I think I am happy with my system now. You guys have all been an awesome sounding board. When I first posted several months ago my choices got shredded. LOL, I've learned a lot!
