Hey,

i was wondering which GTX 970 model was best for buying two of and going for a SLI setup. i'm really quite stuck between options like the gigabyte windforce, the MSI, the Asus STRIX etc.

what do you guys think?

depends on how much overclocking. if all you care about is the highest overclock, wait for the evga classified. otherwise get whatever card runs the coolest since once you stack two of them on each other in sli, temps will go up which will limit your thermal overclocking headroom. if noise is an issue then get the ones that are the quietest.

remember in reviews, not all the cards come with the same clocks, or even the same vcore. cards that are already clocked higher are going to naturally put out more heat, and likely more fan noise too. especially if they have more voltage than the next card.

besides evgas classified coolers, they use much larger fans that pretty much any other board partner, the twin frozr cooler from msi is...
