Hey guys, I have a OMEGA 800W AX800N and I'm wondering if it's enough to supply a Sapphire Dual-X R9 280x GPU, does it has the 8 pin cables it requires or do I need a new GPU? Excuse my ignorance, thanks in advance.

I couldn't find reliable review on this OMEGA PSU, so I cannot say it is bad. 800w psu is more than enough for 280x card and for your system.

Thank you both for the replies.

I honestly don't know much, but my PSU does not have a 8 pin cable, only a 6 pin one, do I have to use a 8 pin molex (something like this http://www.kenable.co.uk/images/k-pcie-molex_main.jpg) and also plug in the 6 pin to make it work?

Dual molex to 8-pin should be fine.
Though PCIe 6-pin = 75w; 8-pin = 150w.. The R9 280x draws actual power no more than 300w, I cannot tell about its performance with that power/setup during intensive graphics gaming.

This also should be fine if you have spare 6-pin:

Sorry, for some reason it didn't posted anything other than the quote, here's the link: http://pic.twitter.com/SkxD7uglKn

Had to post it via Twitter since I'm on the phone right now, sorry about that.

Also Suz, I'm considering getting another PSU since I can't find any reviews from this one.

Note: just realized so that I'm posting on another account, seems like I have one per email, my apologies again, it's the same person though, RF_molina.

I agree with Suztera...
Again, mine is just an info about its capacity of 800w and 12 volts railing that I can say it can handle it.. But R9 280x is med-high range graphics card with better in performance and you don't want to crash in the middle of the game or multimedia editing.

You don't have to get 800w, around 600w psu is enough for the graphics card and system. I would suggest PSU with at least 20Amps +12v rail, with 80+ compliance.... Seasonic, XFX and Corsair psu.
