hi, i am looking to build a gaming pc able to handle most new games on high settings and run smoothly hopefully last a good few years. now here i have a few parts i thought might work for such a build

cpu - athlon x4 860k
motherboard - asrock extreme4+ A88M MOBO
ram - crucial ballastix sport 8gb
HDD - undetermined
GPU - XFXR7 265
CASE - RAIDMAX STINGRAY 249-BATXCASE
POWER SUPPLY - CORSAIR CX430 80+ BRONZE PSU

thats really just an outline of my idea, im posting here to get opinions on this what should i change and how will it make the build better?

Solution

I5 4690k has 4 cores on the other hand amd fx 8350 have 8 core but they are weaker than the 4 cores of i5 so in games i5 perform much better than fx 8350 .

I5 4690k...

that helped alot thanks, so along with the intel pentium cpu and motherboard what would you suggest for gpu?

if i really wanted to i could probably pick up an i7 used or refurbished for this build, i have heard that alot of the new games require intel i7's so would the intel pentium be able to keep up with most games requirements?

i dont have a set budget im in ireland so obviously working in euros i could pull of around 400 euro but keep adding on as time goes by so i will be able to upgrade after building it

i really appreciate the help, i could spare abit more money on a gpu if i can get a boost from R9 270x for maybe $50 extra. here it what i have for the build now

cpu - intel Pentium G3258
motherboard -
ram - crucial ballastix sport 8gb
HDD - undetermined
GPU - AMD R9 270X
CASE - RAIDMAX STINGRAY 249-BATXCASE
POWER SUPPLY - CORSAIR CX430 80+ BRONZE PSU

so really all i need now are opinions on power supply, cooling system and motherboard. id like to know what the best motherboard is for the cpu i have chosen that will allow for good overclocking

update: ive decided, despite my budget i may go for an i5 intel 4670k cpu. would this be recommended over the intel pentium considering the price difference?

This is a pretty good upgrade, although I would recommend the Intel Core i5 4690K over the 4670k, as it alledgedly is a better overclocker and has better thermals

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard
MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card

or a cheaper one like this one

AMD A10-6800K 4.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus A88XM-A Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard

CPU : fx 6300
Motherboard : 970 chipset board
CPU cooler : hyper 212 evo
RAM : 2x4 gb always buy ram in dual channel and in pair for better performance.
HDD: 1tb wd blue.
GPU : r9 270
PSU : xfx 450
CASE : corsair spec 1 (it depend according to your choice)

I have no idea about the PC part cost in Ireland but this would be a good budget PC for gaming.

Okay, I intend to go with the intel i5 4690k CPU, just a question i can get an and CPU with a lot more cores than this.. Would that not be better than just a dual core intel?
Anyway, for the i5 what motherboard and gpu should I get and I was also wondering (sorry for the noob questions) after I purchase all the parts and have my pc up and running, would I be able to buy an additional gpu better than the one I have installed and add it so I have both gpu's installed and a combined performance? I'm thinking of going for the r9 270 for now and in time add another gpu

I5 4690k has 4 cores on the other hand amd fx 8350 have 8 core but they are weaker than the 4 cores of i5 so in games i5 perform much better than fx 8350 .

I5 4690k with a z97 motherboard a cpu cooler 8 gb ram and r9 270 would be a good build if your budget permits it .
