ok i had an issue a while ago where id run both my 7970's in crossfire and id get to the windows logo and bam id get black screened. now my issue is that i cannot run one of the cards past this point by itself or with the other card but the other card runs perfectly by itself. is there a way to correct this? ive re installed the latest drivers, device manager says nothing is wrong with either card, onboard display adapter is uninstalled, and bios is set to display from gpu. is there something im missing or is there a way to correct this through bios? and if it does manage to boot with both cards it constantly freezes or i get bsod until i reset it and remove one of the cards. which then i have to run recovery and fix the error. please help cuz i dont wanna trash a potentially good card

If both cards don't work together and one of them works but the second does not on it's own, that second card is bad.

You can try to underclock the card and see if that helps, but for crossfile you probably need to underlock both cards. Even then it wont fix the issue really just keep it from happening, maybe for only a short time.
