Hi All,
My dad's computer is playing up, specs :
CPU - Intel Celeron E1400
Motherboard - MSI MS-7525 (Boston)
RAM - 2x 2GB Crucial 240-pin DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz
Basically it has had this RAM installed for over a year now, with no issues.
Roughly a month ago I fitted a new Samsung Evo 840 SSD as his HD was failing. On this SSD I did a clean install of Windows 7 64 Bit (he was previously running Vista 32 Bit).
Anyway, very strangely there is a problem with Dropbox. It is set to auto run at startup, and when it is uploading files it causes the computer to BSOD and restart.
It is fine unless it is running, for example I can end the process as soon as it is booted and the computer will be fine, but if I leave it run it will BSOD
Dropbox ran fine on Vista, and I have tried to re-install it with no luck.
But the stange thing is if I boot the computer with both sticks fitted, the computer will BSOD and restart within 2 minutes of turning on, as soon as I run one stick it seems to be absolutely fine with no BSOD's or any issues.
I've ran Memtest86+ with both RAM sticks fitted, and also ran them individually and its found no errors. I've ran it for over 8 passes for each configuration, which I thought should be enough.
So it seems there is a issue with both RAM sticks fitted and Dropbox...
Any suggestions?
Many Thanks,
James
