Hello. so i have these slow memory cards (4x 2gb 1333mhz ddr3) and wondered how much they hold back my performance and if i get a "huge" increase in performance buy upgrading to 2x 4gb 1600mhz.?

Here's my build:

Motherboard: Asus Gryphon Z87
Power Supply: Seasonic S12II-620
CPU: Intel i7 4770k, multiplier at 43=4,3Ghz (turbo boost mode)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B
GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 970
Memory : 4x DDR3 2gb 1333mhz
SSD: Samsung 840 PRO 128gb
HDD: ATA ST31000528AS SCSI 1TB
Case: Fractal Design R4

also, which would be better 2x 4gb or 4x 2gb? I'd rather buy 2x 4gb for two reasons...1# 2 free slots for future cards and second reason, CPU heatsink basically touches the top of 2 of the cards that are closest to cpu so i can't get cards on those slots that have a heatsink that makes the cards taller. so instead i could have 2x 4gb cards with taller heatsinks and put them in the slots farthest away from my CPU heatsink. i will add a picture so you have easier to understand what i mean, hope you can see it.

Upgrade from 1333MHz to 1600MHz.
Other than benchmark scores, you will not notice anything.

But, with 2x4GB you will have 2 extra free RAM slots. This is a benefit, since you can add another 2 slots of RAMs.
Other than this, I see no benefits upgrading.

Realistically, the easiest thing to do is go into your BIOS and overclock the ram to 1600MHz. RAM doesn't even require a voltage increase when going from 1333 MHz to 1600 MHz, especially if they're less than 3 years old.
