Computer Freezing while playing Video Games

Hey,

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 @ 665MHz
Motherboard: ASRock H77M
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 770
PSU: Corsair CX 600

I recently setup this PC with the new Mobo, Graphics, and PSU.

The problem is whenever I play a game which is considerably demanding, it will eventually "freeze" my computer, leaving me unable to do anything.

It was first suggested that the problem was overheating, so I reapplied thermal paste, cleaned up the computer to remove dust, and tried to ensure ventilation was unblocked. I also increased fans to the maximum speed for my CPU and Case, but not for the graphics.

When it still crashed I took readings of the temperature before crashes, using HWMonitor and some of the software that came with the hardware. My PC would "freeze" at CPU Package temperatures of 46-50 degrees C, and Graphics of temperatures 50-55 degrees C.

I found the maximum temperature for my CPU to be around 72C and graphics to be 97C. So I would assume overheating is not the cause.

This is my case.

Any suggestions on what the cause is?

Thanks in advance

I second snowctrl on that. I think you may have knocked your GPU and there may be some air which is getting to it.
You should reapply thermal paste to it and see if that works. Otherwise, from the top of my head the only other thing I can think of is there might be an issue with airflow.

I used memtest86 and the test stalled after 5 minutes or so on the first pass on phase 7. I removed one stick of RAM and now the test would proceed past 5 minutes but still didn't make it through a first pass without stalling (11 minutes). On the first stall the PC shut itself down, on the other tests I shut the computer down following 15-20 minutes of waiting. Can I assume that my RAM is faulty?

I ran two CPU tests using BurnInTest, and it found no errors, however it also found no errors for my RAM using this software. I checked my RAM voltages to be 1.5V. I have yet to check other systems.

Any suggestions on where to buy DRR3 4GB RAM?

I tried with some new RAM and I had the same issue.
I removed the current graphics card, and put in my old one and I still got the same problem with a BurnInTest 3D Graphics test (My PC basically freezes).
The graphics card I replaced it with is a Nvidia GeForce GT 545 (DDR3). (I'll also check this for overheating, but I doubt it)

I'm not sure how to check my 12V rail with HW Monitor.

I have yet to perform a memtest on the brand new RAM.
