I currently have an LG G2 VS980 (Verizon) and I want to upgrade. But I am not entirely sure to what. There are 2 phones I'm thinking about. The LG G3 or the new google nexus 6. What do you guys think?

Well the only reason why I wouldn't get the Nexus is that it has fixed storage. Both the LG G3 and the Samsung have removable storage. The reason why I would get the Nexus 6 is it is the largest size phone on the market - larger than the Galaxy, iPhone 6 Plus, and the LG. It's 6" diagonal, where the iPhone 6+ and LG G3 are 5.5" diag, and the Galaxy is 5.7".
This really isn't the right forum for phone questions, but until your thread gets bounced...

They both sport a Snapdragon 800 series processor (which comes with a very nice Adreno GPU), 2k displays, and high resolutions cameras. The major differences here are going to be personal preference... Put your hands on both and choose the one you like. IMHO you really can't go wrong with either. ...especially after LG redesigned their overlay for more of a minimalist approach (Nexus like).

I don't know a whole lot about either phone except that they should have similar spec...I personally would go with the nexus 6 because it will always get the latest updates straight from google with out all the unnecessary stuff manufacturers throw on.

I'm curently running the cloudyG3 rom on my g2, so I already have a little bit of a G3 experience =D. But the nexus 6 has a better battery than the g3 and stock android 5. LG is probably going to role out there own android 5 with an ugly as **** UI.

LG has committed to staying more current with the Android versions as they are released. Likely not as fast at the Nexus obviously, but nothing like the prior versions of their flagship devices (Optimus G & G2). Also, they pulled a lot out of their overlay so there won't be an "ugly as **** UI". Think more Nexus like...

FWIW and IMHO, from a hardware perspective the LG pulls a win for having an IPS display (instead of AMOLED), a greater display PPI, and a microSD card slot. The battery size difference of 220 mAh is hardly noticeable in the real world. They are both "big" batteries at 3000 mAh and 3220 mAh. Interestingly enough, the LG has a much longer stand-by time than the Nexus.

So G3 it is gonna be, I think haha. But I'm going to wait till the nexus 6 has come out and there are some reviews about it. But you guys helped me a lot (thumbs up =) ) And I also really like the knock on features on my g2. So thats another plus for the g3. but again thanks!!

We won't delete it, it will just get moved to the appropriate forum. The Systems forum isn't really appropriate for cell phone posts, and the cell phone board we had got deleted when the Tom's Guide forum opened.

That said I'd go for the Nexus 6 or Samsung Galaxy Note 4 over the LG G3.

But why are you preferring the nexus 6 over the G3? And I am not really into the galaxy series, I think the phones are a bit overrated and I'm not a fan of the design.
