will resetting bios harm my pc also? but im not sure how you do it.

Hello... There is Jumper PINs on your MB and a Coin battery backup.
Read your MB manual/PDF for eaxct locations and proceedure.
1) Un-plug your PS.
2) Remove the Battery carefully.
3) Place a Jumper across the reset Pins... Wait about a few minutes.
4) Remove jumper.
5) replace battery
6) Connect you PS
7) Boot into BIO's and set your hardware communications/settings in your BIO's
8) "Save the Settings and Exit"

I was told i can do it in bios though without taking my pc apart.

Turn your comp off. Turn the switch off in the back. Open the case. Got to the motherboard and pull off a little plastic jumper by the CMOS battery. It will be called: "CLEAR, CLR, CLEAR CMOS, PSSWRD"

It is three pins with a plastic jumper covering two of them. Take the jumper off and put it on the other two pins. i.e. If it is covering pins 2 and 3 right now move it to 1 and 2. Keep the power off and then hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. This will do nothing itsjust to discharge the electricity from the capacitors. Once that is done return the jumper to the original pins and the boot. You will need to obviously reconfigure everything DONE :p
