What resolution are you testing?
I haven't seen any applications taking up more than 3.5 GB. Not even skyrim with a ton of mods.

Memory used depends on the application. Even the 10gb download doesn't use more than 3.5.
I believe the application is limiting the 3.5gb.

I have no idea where those specs came from but there are so many people saying they can play the game on ultra with high res textures and have no problem with 3 or 4 GB cards.
