This will be my first PC in a long time and my first custom build. I've used Macs for the past 9 years and I'm so out of the loop I have no idea where to start. I'm planning to get the parts and have a local computer shop build the PC for me. I don't play any resource-intensive games at the moment; just Sims (1, 2, 3, & probably 4), SimCity (2013), etc. I know I don't necessarily need a gaming pc to play these games, but I'm interested in playing other titles, so since I'm in the market for a new computer, I thought I'd go ahead and get a pc that's a little overkill. Any additional advice/suggestions appreciated!

Approximate Purchase Date: December 2014

Budget Range: $800 or less

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, watching videos/movies, web surfing, basic computer tasks (Office, light photo editing)

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, ncix.com, amazon.com, other suggestions welcome

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: mid or full tower, Intel processor

Overclocking: No

Need to buy OS; Windows 8.1 preferred

Forgot to add: I need a case

Hey man,
Are you looking for someone to custom build you a PC, or do you want to build your own. I can help you with both anyways, just reply if your looking for a parts list or possible build. I just build an IRL friend an $ 800 custom budget PC. it looks dope.

This is really overkill for Sims & SimCity :D

I'm just looking for a parts list; I'm planning to have a local shop build it for me. I've been doing research and watching build videos, so by the time December rolls around I might be brave enough to try building it myself. And I'm not a man, I'm a woman btw :)
