What do I need to do? Nothing else is changing in my PC except I want to boot off my new SSD instead of my 1TB HDD that has Win8.1 system builder already installed on it, with the product code. Will it work with just installing onto the new SSD with the original code?

Solution
Yes, it should. Your Windows OS box should have a product key or there should be one tied to the BIOS already. If it has no code or you don't have the OS disks you should have a recovery partition on the HDD unless it's a custom built desktop in which case you probably needed disks to install anyhow.
