Too low CPU temperatures???

Its not that i dont like seeing low temperatures on my CPU but it just seems weird having 52 degrees C under 100% load on Intel Extreme tuning unity stress test. I enabled the OC genie and my voltage went up to 1.200V. Under gaming its 45 degrees.

I know what u are gonna say. "OMG lucky you" but i think something is not as it should be. Also not sure of my core clock. Under stress test intel says its 4200Mhz.

Any ideas.

PS i use H100i cooler and i7 4790k

All good, the lower the better, and from what you've described, it seems legit. 4.2Ghz is with a bit of Turbo Boost (unless you've OCed it to static 4.2Ghz) from stock 4Ghz.

What are you using to check temps?
Are you sure its not the package temp? Because you should be looking at average core temp.

My motherboard shows temperatures. I have case with window so i can see temps.

Also idk what i OCed. I enabled OC genie since i am not a good overclocker. I can check as i come home

Disable OC Genie, then use HWMonitor or RealTemp to monitor temps.

OMG. I feel kinda good, but kinda bad at the same time. I no nothing of overclocking and yet i get probably one of those 5% rarity ones.

How do i overclock it then? I need a very breaf explanation.

Haha there is no brief explanation, simply googling how to overclock on your board will help you a lot, do as much reading as possible before starting.

You require more voltage changes for the CPU than you do for most GPUs.

Do not aim high with a CPU, start small and work your way up in voltage and clock rate, with at least 30min testing runs in between.

Hehe overclocking is a hobby, it rarely provides significant gaming performance increases. Mostly just in select games like Guild Wars 2 and Arma for example.
