Hello,

I want to build my own rig and I haven't really followed the market for the past few years.
I came up with something by myself ... yet I'm not sure if these are the optimal choices, please let me know what you think and where I can improve.

Processor : I5 4690 (aprox 200Euros in my country)
http://ark.intel.com/products/80810/Intel-Core-i5-4690-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz

Video Card : MD Radeon R9 280X OC TRI-X (225 Euros)
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/product_index.aspx?pid=2023&lid=1

Motherboard: Asus Z97-AR (160 Euros)
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97AR/

HDD : WD Blue 1TB ( 60 Euros)
https://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex

RAM: Dual Channel Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB), DDR3, 1600MHz, (90 Euros)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-%282x4gb%29-corsair-ddr3-desktop-pc3-12800-%281600%29-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-11-11-11-30-15v

PSU: Cool Master 750W (100 euros)

Tower : Thermaltake V9 Mid Tower (60 Euros)
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001177

I'm thinking of adding in an SSD, is it worth it?

Notes:

I don't care about looks, just performance
I already have a 1tb caviar black I can use and I'm not happy with the noise it makes, is blue more silent?
I'm willing to go over the budget if it's really worth it
I will mainly use this pc for gaming , no streaming though
I have a 23inch BBW Syncmaster samsung

Thanks guys,
Cheers,
Diez

That's a really good build except there are a few things wrong with it. I would change the motherboard to an H87/97 mobo because the processor is a non-K which means you can''t overclock. The Z97 mobo is made for K processors and the Asus one's are way more expensive with features that you will probably never use
