I already have a 2 year old pc. mb is a intel dh55tc , I5 650 processor and 2gb kingston ram. along with a 8400gs graphic card
.
I want to upgrade a few things. namely want to put 8 gigs of corsair ram in it. also want to put in AMD r9 270x. and i am also thinking of a 550W corsair powersupply.
.
are the above mentioned things compatible ?
and any further suggestions are welcome.

Solution
That setup is certainly compatible, yes.

When it's affordable I'd look into upgrading your CPU to a Quad Core i5 or i7. However, there's no rush if you aren't into high-end applications.

One more question...i know that dh55tc supports max 16 gigs of ram...and has 4 ram slots...is it possible that one ram slot can take a 16gb ram stick or two slots can take 8gb ram sticks...or is it necessary that if i want 16gb ram i ll have to put 4sticks of 4 gigs each?
Thnx in advance.
