i have a desktop PC ( running windows 7 ultimate) Currently Hooked up with a Wifi Adapter, but when i use a Ethernet it gives

enabled
no internet activity
"local area connction" doesn't have a valid IP connection

it's an Nvidia Nforce Network Controller
I've Tred
-manually using IPV4 Ip Adress
- Renew Ipconfig
-uninstalling/reinstalling Drivers
-Resetting both Machine and Router
-changing ethernet ports
- typing pre Ip from source

Note: Cable works on my laptop

i tried drivers and it pointed out my SNMP was wrong, to i Fixed That. now i'm well and truley stuck.
'i've looked through endless forums and nothing seems to be a fix for me. any ideas?

Solution
Without that option, then its probably hard diagnose the problem let alone solve it..

You can just get another network card to check if it will solve your problem.

Often just changing the MAC address of the network adapter will fix the issue -- I use THIS free MAC changer and it is simple to revert to the old MAC if you want in the future.

It is the quickest fix for an unidentified network if it works, if not search the forum for "unidentified network" and your specific OS, as I have posted a bunch of long threads on how to approach the fix. And listing your OS helps, which I assume is Windows 7 Home Premium because is seems to happen most often and is harder to fix due to the lack of a policy editor that Pro, Ultimate, and Enterprise have.

in that case i can't be locked out, as i'm running Wifi to the router as we speak,. (unless i'm missing something here) the ethernet seems to work on my laptop however not on my desktop, (same one i'm using for Wifi) could it be the DHCP
