Solution
determine if your ram failures are heat related.
totally power down your RAM using the
shutdown.exe - s -t 0
command
wait for the system to cool, then power back up and immediately run memtest86.

if you get a failure, power down, pull 1/2 of the ram, let the system cool and power up and memtest86 again
to see if you pulled the bad ram.

do this until you are sure you have found a bad stick.

The only thing you have to watch for is that your BIOS is UP to date and does not have any overclock settings enabled
for the RAM or CPU. Otherwise you will get false failures and end up pulling out good RAM.

You can also look up the timing settings for your RAM and check your BIOS to see if the settings are correct.

memtest failures are important.

do a complete shutdown of your machine (not sleep, not fastboot)
run cmd.exe as a admin
then run
shutdown.exe - s -t 0

let your machine cool for a hour or so, then boot your machine and run the memtest86 and see if you get any failures.

sometimes you can have a memory failure where one of the legs of the memory chip becomes disconnected to its solder pad.
if this happens it can contract when it is cold and disconnect. When the chip warms up the leg expands and reconnects and works ok.

it causes failures in memory that only occur after the machine cools down. These tend to be very hard to find.
(you may find that 10 mins of cooling before you test will show a memory failure. Often the chip heats up in 10 seconds or so and will not fail a test until it is cooled. (you can use a can of compressed air to cool the memory down. or a heat gun to heat up memory to help Isolate bad connections)
