Hello, Before i begin My part list is the Crossair V Formla Z, a Fx 8350, 16 gb of gskill ram, A corsair cmx 700 wat power supply, a gtx 660, and 2 hardrives and a Thermaltak water 2.0 extreme.
That being said lets get on to the nightmare.

I was wanting better cable management and better case flow and cooling.
I took apart everything expect my mobo in the case and ended up making my cables look so freaking neat. I then proceeded to put my water loop and other components back together (i manged to place my water loop at the bottom as the air is better there it was a tight fit) and fit it back in place neatly.

I was proud of my work i used cable ties and cleaver routing.
Well after everything was back together correctly. I turn my power supply on and powered on my pc. I heard a pop zzizipzpz. Not a loud pop but a small one and little zipzi.. i had my hand on the power supply switch so the ammount of time it took me to turn the pc of at the start of the noise was supper fast. like it happened for half a second. well after taking everything out freaking out hoping nothing of value was damaged . I took my water cooling out i mean everything and put my mobo on a cardboard sheet and i visual inspected every inch of my parts for burns or smells. The power supply had no smell. the cpu had no burn marks or smells or bent pins. the ram smelled like ram. the gpu was fine. the cooler ( it ended up burning out at the time of the short) was dead though. it was partly my fault as i placed it in a place where at the time i did not know the pump could not pump water up like it was so the pump ended up being trapped in a air bubble and died.

well oddly i put it back together *with the stock cooler instead and powered it on. IT WORKED!! but i was to scared to let it keep going into the os. So i shut it off to be safe.

i then thought i was in the clear. i turned on a few hours later to find that the led error code indicator ggave me a ff code. i knew what it meant and i felt horror......... any how i looked it up online and found guides to help troubleshoot it to find the bad part. i allready knew the mobo sorta was bad (it still powered up like normal) but i was not sure if the cpu or any other part ended up bad.

So i bread boarded it with just the power supply hooked up to it and no cpu to see if the mobo gave something other than a ff code. Nope. Then i added the cpu. with the HSF. Nope. knowing that if it still gives ff code even with the cpu powerd in then it must be the mobo? i tested other power supplys to rule out any power supply issues. Nope..

So after reading all this, can we conclude that the mobo it self is the only bad part? (besides the water cooler that would have burned out any way because of the way i placed it) Or is it still possable that the cpu is bad to along with everything else? I did the breadboard method 4 times to make sure im not doing anything right. i even make sure the plugs or in all the way.....

So yeah thanks. hope this is enough info.

Make sure you didin;t cut any PSU wires when you did cable management. A slightly cut wire plastic can cause a short when touching the case. If you don;t find anything then you;re in that 1% when a quality mobo fails for no reason after a while.

Make sure you didn;t cause a short on your PSU or water cooler's wires when you did cable management. Other than that its the mobo but i would be worried by the cause of death; something wasn't/isn't right there as that type of mobo just doesn;t simply die for no reason.

One thing is clear tho - mobo is dead.
