Is my GPU failing?

Hi there everyone,

I made this thread just to see what kind of input or suggestions yous people might have for me. My problem seems to be pretty elusive but it's also somewhat straight-forward. First of all, here's my system:

MB - Gigabyte z87x-d3h
CPU - i7-4770k @ 4.2ghz
Cooler - Thermaltake Water 3.0 pro
RAM - 16gb Kingston HyperX 1333mhz
GPU - MSI HD7970 (reference pcb with aftermarket Gelid cooler)
Storage - Kingston HyperX 3k 120gb ssd + WD Blue 1Tb
PSU - Antec BP550 plus
Sound - Creative Xfi Titanium
Displays - 22" Samsung panel (DVI) and some PoS Sanyo 37" tv (HDMI)
OS - Win 8.1

So my problem is that my computer keeps blue screening randomly about once every day and a half or so. It restarts itself and goes back into windows just fine. I can't seem to replicate the problem, but I did notice that when the TV is turned off and I use just one display (DVI) that it sometimes blue screens while trying to "transition" to single-display configuration. I have catalyst 14.9 from AMD, and have tried reinstalling the last beta driver and neither seems to help the problem. And just now, while i was watching a game on my second display (TV), my main display flickered out to a weird looking black screen for about 10 seconds before recovering. The TV just went on like nothing was happening.

My system temperatures are perfect and everything else seems to be just fine (when its not crashing)

You think this is a sign that my GPU might be on it's way out? It is the oldest part of my pc after all...

Thanks in advance if you have any input for me :)

Nice! Thanks for the suggestions, i'll check it out right now. I've also noticed that CPU and GPU clocks don't seem to make any difference as well, even if i put them both back to stock.

I mean, yes, I hope it's not the GPU. But I have gotten a lot of use out of it, so I can't be TOO disappointed. Upgrading to newer card won't be the worst thing in the world heh heh

I ran the analysis but since I deactivated my page file in windows, it doesn't have any dumps written so far. I'll just have to wait until it does it again (which shouldn't be too long) then I'll check it out. Again, thanks for the help!
