Hey, currently i have a HD 5450 asus silent GPU ,wich i know doesnt use too much energy
my psu can get max 255 W, can get 15Amps on 5v+ lane and 4Amps on 5v- Lane
i have 2gb ram ddr2
intel core 2 quad q9550 2.83GHz
I wanna get R7 240 asus 4gb ddr3 OC
does my psu suport this new videoboard ,and what can acctualy happen if i use this configuration, and it doesn't give enough enery for all components.
will my pc get a life sleep? ,or my new videoboard die in first day? :))

Your computer might not even turn on and/or it will shut down the minute it uses too much power. Also, Your power supply could be stressed and might not have overcurrent protection on it so it could stress it to the point so much that it could just blow up and take out other components with it. A 5450 requires a 220 watt power supply in itself not counting the fact that you have a 95 Watt TDP processor.

Play it safe. Either get another power supply to use with the card or don't use the card and stick with what you have.

Power Supply blown up.

The 5450 you have only pulls 19.1 watts is true. But who says that a cheap generic power supply from the factory that says 220 watts on it that is not even rated "80 Plus" at least for efficiency is even giving half of that. The factory can put whatever power amount on the label they want. But, Whether it actually delivers that or not, could be a whole different story. That 220 watt power supply might actually be only giving out a real 120 watts of power. And if your processor is already at a TDP of 95 watts, That only leaves 25 watts for everything else.

I would put it in and not worry about it. When you cant add 20 watts to a PC thats less than adding anouther hard drive at spin up.
If it was only putting out 120 Watts it would of already blown. 15 A on the 12 volt rail is 180 Watts put it in and don't worry about it.
