i just asembled a pc and can it boot with only MOBO and cpu and powersupply?

i assembled my pc today and i am unable to boot into bois, no result, my motherboard is a msi
h97iac and my cpu is pentium g3258. i also have a h60 installed but the pump will not turn on, only the intake fan turns on. is this normal that i cant boot or is there an issue with my cpu?

There needs to be RAM in there...

You should have the pump connected to a constant voltage source. Put the fan pushing air through the radiator on the CPU fan header.

You didn't say that you had RAM. RAM is required to boot.

The computer is technically just the psu and mobo but if you want it to actually do somthing you need other things like ram and a cpu.

i tried with ram, the pc will just turn on but not any signal, i have cpu installed also, could it be that perhaps sine i have a 20 pin atx connector instead of a 24 pin one ?

yes that will diffinitly be a problem in future if a motherboard asks for a certain amount of connections it will probably need them

i only have a cpu, mobo and h60 installed nothing else and with a psu

One reason it wont do anything is if the right BIOS isnt on the mobo now.

It needs BIOS 5.1 on it before it'll support that CPU

According to the site. If this isnt on it now, it's not going to do anything

yes i did, but the h60 pump is not going on, i think cause theres not enough power or something with the psu or the 12 v rails idk
