I'm working on a build for this December. I already have the case, and would like to use this ssd and a GTX 970. I'm wondering if this is a good plan for the build, which could be changed depending on sales in November and December. Also, will everything fit into the case without too much trouble?

If you're flexible on case choice I'd highly recommend the In Win 901 for an mITX rig - my next rig will be based around this case:

I'll pick the GTX970 when I can get it.

I'm using a Silverstone ML07 case.

So I do really like the mini itx 970 so i think i will most likely pick that up. Can I drop the PSU to 550w? Also should I be looking for non-stock CPU cooling(what is a good noctua model for this case/mobo setup)? Lastly, since I know that this case has a bit of trouble with gpu cooling should I look into extra case fans(and with them probably keep the psu the same)?

You might want to check the number of fan headers on that motherboard. My motherboard is very similar and has one CPU header and one case fan header. To run the three fans you have selected, you will need one or more splitters or a separate fan controller, unless you plan to run them at 100% power all the time by connecting them directly to the power supply.

Yes, I linked an article right here on this new card from GB, supposedly coming next month.

So the MoBo has 1 fan controller but I was planning on just running them 100% off the power supply. Should I get a fan controller or Will a fan controller work with the MoBo? Also, Do I need this much air circulation? I just wanted to ask about it because I have a "gaming" laptop right now that has a very bad problem of over heating.

If you don't intend more than mild overclocks, that case is large enough that heat shouldn't be a big problem.
I'd either get a fan controller, or get low-speed fans. The former is more expensive, but gives you the option of increasing air flow if there is a problem. My own overclocks are mild or I run stock, and low speed fans have always been sufficient.

I would probably consider a Coolermaster Elite 130 for case. Then you can get any standard length GPU you want. That new 970, from gigabyte, is a tempting product though, and I don't even like Gigabyte graphics cards.

So if you read the post I already own the case. Thanks for your input though.

http://www.tested.com/tech/pcs/454052-small-quiet-fast-building-modern-gaming-pc/ There is this build that was done with a GTX Titan so maybe other cards that are about 10" long would work maybe?

Huh, very interesting. I'm guessing that this is Steam Machine inspired?

I'll be getting either the Gigabyte or EVGA model for my system in the near future.

Yeah so I'm planning on getting the mini itx 970 or a 9.5" model if and only if the mini itx version is somehow a super fail(heating problems maybe). but most likely I will be getting the miniitx version with something like the fan setup I have planned with a controller. Will a 550 watt power supply be enough or do I need 650? or would 650 be better for future proofing?
