Hi, I currently own a HP Pavilion p7-1207c and I play NBA 2K15 on low settings at 1600x900 and average only about 25 maybe 30 if I get lucky. The card I plan on upgrading to is either the GT 630 or the GT 730. My question is if my motherboard would support either of these cards and will I see a increase of framerates in 2K15?

Thanks!

The GT 730 is a PCI-E 2.0 - like on your motherboard.

It should give you better FPS vs the integrated gpu.

That GPU also requires a 300w PSU. Your HP should be able to run this gpu. I say *should* because those HP PSUs aren't very good.

first off you need to be sure the graphics card is pci-e x16 and also need to upgrade your power supply to handle a new graphics card. I would suggest either an hd 7850 or gt 750... gt 650ti is ok as well I would not go lower than X50 for NVidia cards so 550, 560, , 650, 760, 770. what is your budget.... ill try to help...

My opinion aswell. If he was willing to get something like a GTX 760 then it would be better to just trash that computer and start over with a new build.

According to the few 7850s I checked, they list a 500w PSU requirement and are almost 3x the price of the GPUs he listed.

I would still go for the GT 730 at the price.

If you want to go for high performing card, you will need a new PSU and most likely a CPU.

If at all possible make sure to check if your motherboard supports graphics cards.

My dad bought a dell desktop from best buy that I tried to upgrade with a gigabyte GTX 650 ti boost and I couldn't get it to work no matter how hard I tried.

Although I never found if it what the exact error was I searched the web and and came to the conclusion that the cheap motherboard probably just didn't support it for some reason.

Thanks all for the help, I do have a strict budget this retains to the GT 730. So I'm good to go if I buy this card and install it? I won't have any issues with the BIOS or anything?

So I don't have to fiddle with any settings to disable my integrated graphics and when I install the GT 730 I can just download the latest driver from EVGA?

Alright, do you think it would be possible for me to overclock the GT 730 with MSI Afterburner?
