Black screen after alt tab (new monitor)

So I just got my new 144hz monitor from Acer today. Great monitor, everything else is good. The monitor I had before this one never had this problem. What could be the cause?

Alt Tabbing from what? If it's a game then have you set the refresh rate in game to be as your monitor? Have you tried v-sync on and off? Have you got the latest drivers for your GPU? Is it only 1 specific game - maybe it's the game itself - not all games behave well when alt tabbing. There are hundreds of possible causes, you should be more specific.
