I have a dead 8800GT that needs to be replaced. I have tried a cheap replacement card that did not have 6 pin power supply and it sent the PC into Error Mode when I turned it on. I have been unable to find a new card that has the 6 pin power connector. Any suggestion on a replacement card in the 100 dollar range would be helpful. I have basic internet needs for this PC. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I tried a low end card from PNY and installed it correctly. The PC would not even boot up when this card was in place so I took it back. In doing some research online i saw some suggestions that the Dell 420 XPS requires a card with a 6 pin SATA power connection. It appears that the motherboard does not provide enough power and there is no on-board graphics on my PC.

Well that's weird. AFAIK the pcie x16 slot on mobo will provide about 75w. For cards with 6pin that means it will need more than 75w. So if you take a card with rated for 150w it might not work anyway since the pcie slot cannotrovide enough power to the card. Anyway try looking for gtx750 ti that has 6pin on board. The reference version doesn't have one but some board partner still put 6pin on their board to sustain higher clock.

So is it the specification that your mobo pcie x16 cannot provide 75w or is it broken? If the later then I think it's time to ditch your PC and buy new one
