disconnecting from internet 10 X a day

I have an HP ENVY 700 PC, got it in January and its time to figure out why I am constantly having to restart my PC all day long to reconnect to the internet. It just looses connection all day long. The 5 bars goes either to the little x and greyed out, or the big yellow triangle. My daughter borrowed it and she had no problem in her house for about a week. Router is Netgear and I have an Xfinity modem. Can someone guide me in the right direction. I have called Comcast twice and they see a strong connection. :(

You should be able to put in the ip address of your router in the browser. Exactly what screen it is on varies greatly but it a common thing to do so they generally tell in the router manual how to do it.

Be nice if hp did not have the same part number on a huge number of machines with different options.

You are likely getting interference from neighbors.

On the router you want to change to 20mhz channels and try channels 1,6,11 and see if any works better. If your pc and router support it there are more channels you can try on the 5g band. Pretty much you are going to have to keep trying until you find one that you do not drop on.

If it is a option use a ethernet cable the only way that will drop is if you lose the internet form the ISP.
