The re-allocated sector count and event count on my laptop's hard drive appears to be under warning on HD tune. Is it going to fail soon. Is there any way to fix it or prevent further damage.?

Here's the screenshot.

Hi there karlog22,

These were bad sectors that were reallocated. I would say that you should back up your data as soon as possible. In my opinion, once bad sectors start to appear, they will continue to do so.
After backing up your data, you can try writing zeros on the drive and see whether this will improve something.
If you decide to use it anyway, I would suggest you to do regular back ups of the data as well as regular testing(in order to see whether it is going worse fast).

Hope this will help,

So you mean to say it can fail at anytime and isn't reliable anymore?

I did run a full error scan on the same and found no bad sectors.

It looks like the drive remapped the sectors it found that are bad. But another one could go bad, which may contain important data and the drive can't read all the data in the bad sector so you have data loss.
A drive usually needs a write based surface scan in order to remap sectors, such as HDD regenerator, spinrite or disk wiping software.

Thanks for your answers guys. I'm am skeptical about using the above mentioned software as of now. I did do a windows back up and also create recovery disks through vaio care. I've been keeping an eye on those numbers daily. It is constant for now. So i am just leaving it as such.
