Can I have an R9 290 on a AMD 760G Chipset?

Like the question asks, can I have an R9 290 video card on a AMD 760G Chipset motherboard? The computer I'm buying is a CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 Desktop and it comes with the AMD 760G Chipset. I'm also purchasing a 650 watt PSU because the 500 watt that comes with it is not enough.

I'm pretty sure it can, however make sure the PSU is of a decent brand, such as Corsair as the cheaper brands combined with an R9 290 will just go kaboom...

Yep that's good. The 760g chipset should handle it okay, just don't even consider crossfire of any kind...

Although I have to say that the 4300 CPU will massively bottleneck the 290...

Nevermind, I got the AMD FX 8320. It should run decently with the R9 290.

Yeah, an 8320 will do it fine, maybe some slight bottlenecking in games that don't use many cores but it still shouldn't go below 60 fps. I have an overclocked 8350 and 290 myself

The BIOS may not support the 8350 yet and may need updating. Put your old CPU back in and update the BIOS to the version that supports the 8320 if it exists. However I would reccomend upgrading to a newer motherboard. You will need to purchase new thermal paste
