Ive recently built my own PC, I do not yet have an operating system installed. But I checked the bios and was looking through the "PC health status" and saw the my fx 8320 was running at around 32c, I decided that for an idle temperature that that was too high, and decided to apply new thermal paste, after doing so my bios is reading temperatures of 77c to 83c without even having an operating system running. Did I break my motherboard?

(Nevermind I forgot to connect my pump to my motherboard again -_-)

Possibly too much, possibly too little, possibly incorrectly seated or too tight heatsink. The amount of heatpaste needed is roughly the size of a large BB pellet or a small pea.
