computer upgrade build question

I am upgrading my computer and want to be able to run Win XP and Win 8 on the same machine. What will bring the best results? 1. putting both OS on same drive or 2. running each OS on 2 different hard drives? I have one large drive of 1.5t and the other is 300 gigabytes. Thanks Steve

Shouldnt matter if theyre on 1 hdd on 2 partitions or 2 hdd's. Up to you. But just remember if youre using 8 or more GB. XP wont be able to use all of it

i guess you must have both OS installed on a single hdd , where is the master boot record allocated . Enabling you to choose which OS you wish to start . Otherwise , you must every time switch the bootable device from BIOS.

What is your reasoning for running XP? Have you thought about using a VM?

Well no you can still have 2 OS's on 2 different hdd's. You just have to make sure the 2nd hdd is still connected when you install the 2nd OS

Because if it isnt then you'll have to change the bootdisk all the time in the BIOS
