I remember my dad telling me the same 15 years ago, i ordered it to my uncles place , assembled it there, and took it home like it was a prebuild one.

Sadly prebuilt computers for 500 won't perform well for gaming.

How about you contact local PC repair shops and ask them how much they'd charge for assembling a PC from scratch? If they'll do it around $100 you'd probably be best off buying $400 of parts and getting the professionals to build it. Would you parents go with that?
