what are the symptoms of an failing screen

What does a failing screen do?cause it shows like white transparent lines when i play games.The gpu is new but the screen is old.Please help.Also can it be the gpu is bad out the box

Well the most common one is overall dimming and dead pixels, but I think the gpu is the faulty part, since the lines only appear on games I suggest to RMA the card or reinstall display drivers and then try again.

you can see lines also on normal screen.the gpu is brand new not even 5months old

Do you have a spare monitor or any other screen that you can test? If the problem is still there even if you're using another monitor then the GPU is the culprit, if not then your older monitor is broke.

yea i have one will see what it does.but strange thing is ran valley benchmark and i could not see lines

Hmmmm, I'm leaning towards the GPU problem, is the GPU overclocked? or is it at stock? what gpu are we talking about exactly?
