All of my windows in Windows kept freezing so I could not access anything. They only way to stop it was to shit down my laptop. The laptop is a Lenovo y50. After rebooting, Windows says it is recording crash information and needs to reboot. It keeps on doing this. I made a recovery USB flash drive from another computer since the laptop does not have a disk drive. The recovery disk loads the windows files but the screen goes black after that and the USB light stops flashing. The same thing happens when I use the built in Lenovo recovery drive. I can boot into Ubuntu fine though. I used NTFSFix in Ubuntu but it did not find any errors. I even took the SSHD out and ran chkdsk from another computer. Still no luck. What the heck is happening? I need Windows 8 for school... I am afraid if Lenovo will not take my laptop back for repair. How long would it take? Does it cost anything?
