Evga gtx 980 superclocked atx 2.0
4 120mm jetflo case fans
Asus m5a97
Kraken x41
250 gb ssd
2 terabyte hdd
16 gb

My PSU now:
Be quiet 600w 80 silver plus

Go with a good brand PSU around 850 watts or higher from Tier 1 - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1925006/power-supply-tiered-list.html

Seasonic, XFX, Corsair HX, AX.

He has a 600W BeQuiet. It's a European model, so some might not be familiar with it. You'll be fine with that PSU. You'll be using less then 300W, and yours is fine to handle that load.

Novuake :

If his PSU is the "Be quiet dark power pro" it is a tier 3 PSU. Other Be quiet PSUs may be a different story. I allow for plenty of headroom, capacity for upgrades, room for overclocking, and degradation of caps. It's a small premium for great performance (PSU).

There is a very fine line between necessary quality and wasting money. There is absolute nothing to justify a 850w unit, even 600w is more than enough.

I have no problem with your opinion or recommendation. I never go with "minimums" or "adequate" in my designs.

Nvidia recommend a 500W PSU and your current one delivers 576W on the +12V rails, so you'll be fine. It's slightly unnerving that your PSU has six +12V rails mind you, but that's another matter.
