hello guyz
i dont have any question to ask here but i have a confusion.
i have $500 and i want an GPU, a motherboard, a cpu and a monitor too.
but this $500 is a one time offer by my dad. now u tell what to buy ? i am thinking of getting a GTX970. I'll upgrade my cpu after few months. but the prob is i dont have a LED monitor :(

Solution
You will not fit all that in for $500, lose the 970GTX and go with something more realistic. You can look through Craiglist and find Monitors that are under $75.

This leaves you room for those ???? and will game very well. Mainly PowerSupply and Ram.

Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646g3258 $69.99 @ Amazon
ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97mpro4 $81.98 @ Newegg
Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB DirectCU II Video Card http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx770dc2oc2gd5 $248.99 @ NCIX US

| Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available | $400.96

Is it an i3 or something else? Please be brief.
That might bottleneck it so bad then.
For a GTX 760 and above(770,780,etc.) at least an low-end i5(or AMD's Six core processors and up) needed or otherwise you will get huge stutters in games and huge fps drops, which would make the GPU otherwise quite useless.

That doesn't help much. Need to know the actual specs. Also, you would need a new copy of Windows. Cases tend to be proprietary, so that will probably need replaced as well. Basically you would need to build a whole new rig, and just reuse the HDD and DVD drive, and maybe ram, if it is ddr3.

Going for an i5 4440 would be a great choiceand has great potential. Would be perfect for GTX 770, although I would seriously recommend you to hold on to the money till Jan 2015 as the new GTX 960 will release.

Socket 775, it's not entirely useless but you wont run a 760 or above, with no Overclocking potential a R7 260X "New Power Supply? or 750TI would be about as high as you would want to go.

A CPU upgrade and low Power Video Card will run you about $160 and net Low to Medium settings on a 720 or 1080 setting. I would imagine it would be a big boost on a CRT. Frankly you would be better off saving your money and building around $500.

New system time. Can reuse the HDD and DVD drive, if they are SATA, for now, but that is about it.
