Hi there
First time post, long time lurker
Anyway I'm looking a bit of advice around cooling for a new pc I've just bought prebuilt on ebay, taking a wee bit of a chance but the seller has a good rep and a genuine reason for sale.
The spec is as below
Intel i7-4790 3.60GHz LGA1150 'Haswell Refresh' CPU (Quad Core/8 Thread/22nm build process)
MSI GEForce GTX 770 OC 2GB GDDR5 PCie 3.0 Graphics Card
Intel 530 120GB High Perfomance SSD
8GB RAM (Kingston 2 x 4GB DDR3-1600 (11-11-11 timing) DRAM)
MSI B85I Gen 4 LGA1150 Mini ITX motherboard
Antec ISK600 Mini ITX Shuttle Case (http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706714&fid=5022033&lan=nz)
Antec Earthwatts EA-550 Platinum low noise PSU
So stock CPU cooler, itx case with stock 120mm Fan. Apparently this machine was used to demo virtual reality demos at a trade fair over a few weeks, so pretty intensive workload and no issues but I'm a bit worried about the heat still.
There'll be no overclock on the cpu, and I need to add a 7200rpm HDD, so what are your thoughts - is a liquid cpu cooler or a case mod entirely necessary or will I get away with not doing it, considering I dont want to pull it apart
Cheers!
