R7 260X flickering issues are very common in this card?

I've read in several forums that many people had problems with these cards: flickering screens, artifacts, crashes etc.
Apparently it's something about the memory and its manufacturer.

Are those claimings true or false?
Spending money on these cards and taking chances is too risky?

Solution
Well I heard a lot about radeon from GCN generation onwards getting black screen issue. Also flickering/artifact issue in dx9 based games. The later could have been fix since it was acknowledged by AMD.

That would concern the manufacturing of VRAM and the unfortunate situation when you have corrupt VRAM. It might seem like it's large in numbers, but when you think about it, who is more likely to talk about their card and write reviews: people having issues with their card or people who are happy with their card?

I agree, you make a good point.
But it's just that i've found a lot more of complains about these cards than any others.

When choosing cards I tend to avoid some manufacturers out of personal preference: the ones to avoid being Gigabyte and to some extent XFX. (because of some problems with them I've had personally and Gigabyte just has terrible customer service altogether).

If there really were a large number of cards that had such issues then people would most likely boycott AMD cards.

It is unsurprising to see that GCN based cards have been experiencing some issues as it is a brand new architecture in comparison to VLIW; which is what AMD/ATi had built upon for years prior to the switch to GCN back in 2011 with the launch of the 7900 series cards. (which also marked the last, extremely major jump in performance of flagship models and their predecessors became almost obsolete in comparison)

Actually it is sad to see XFX quality dropping. They used to be one of the best GPU maker. Back in the 200 vs hd4k series era they are very well known to have a very good customer support. And their card was recommended by many because of their double lifetime warranty policy. I think it was a mistake for XFX to part way from nvidia. Their reputation has been going down when they stop making nvidia cards. And early this year I heard rumors about XFX might considering to stop making GPU altogether due to not able to sale enough card.
