Put a new power supply into my computer, but ever since I made the switch my second internal hard drive does not appear to get any power (not spinning up at all). Took the HDD out and tested it on another computer to see if it was dead and it worked without any issues. Replaced the power and data cables in the new computer and the HDD still will not boot up. The OS is on the main SSD and the computer itself runs fine (except for the sound, which has also stopped working), just no HDD.

Friend of mine says its a failing a motherboard (msi b85-g41) because the sound is also out too, but I have not messed with the sound much to know if it's a simple fix or not. I'm just at a lose because everything was fine before I put in the new power supply.

Solution
PSUs use modular cables. The pinouts for these cables do not follow any standard. It could be that you are mixing your new PSU with the power cables from your old one. Be aware that this can result in catastrophic damage, especially if 12V is applied to the 5V pins.
