I'm looking for a computer for my mom....I've always built systems myself but don't have the time right now. I'm not sure there will be a lot of people here that have bought vendor built systems but it's worth a shot. I'm looking for a powerful system with core i7 and at least 8gb ram. prices are around $800 to $1200 in this range. It's a lot but it's for business purposes and in the past she's always bought cheaper ones and they crap out sooner than later.
THanks

Well that Dell XPS has a OEM cripple video card in the GT635.

GTX650 that computer from pcmag is a little better, but it depends on what you are trying to do with it. Intel HD graphics is fine for browsing and watching movies, even some light gaming.

GTX650 would let it run more modern games at med-high settings, but there are much better builds for the money if we are talking gaming.

For what you describe as your mom's uses, def overkill. Get one of the $800 rigs and use the savings for a super sweet monitor(you will be her fav child!)
