i am considering making a cheap gaming pc for christmas and i am not really sure which would be the best components to use.
Was hoping to be able to play at medium to low settings at 1080p, thanks in advance for any help

200-250£ ...damn thats hard
I mean even the new consoles cost more than that it would be near impossible to build a decent gaming rig at that price.
I would recomend you save up some more money and buy a console ps4 or xb1.
the only way I could see a gaming PC happen at that price is with an AMD apu on the cheapest mainboard you can find and without a case.
and even then I would argue that a console experience would be better
