So with christmas and a new job coming up I am hoping to upgrade. But to what. I do mostly BF4 and very light video editing. AMD just doesn't have the upgrade path. I am very budgeted to about $380. I love my GPU which is r7 265 OCed to kingdom come but my monitor is 1600x900, so...eh. I have a Themaltake TR2 430W PSU, Fx 6300, Biostar TA970 MOBO, 120GB SSD(only that) 5 case fans, 8gb of RAM and a real passion to Overclock in the future.
Thanks in advance. Oh and what kind of monitor should I get in the future? 144hz 1080p monitor, ouch on the wallet but nice to the eyes I guess.

Sorry, being an idiot, but what is the actual question? Which processor? If you can afford it the i5 (and if your motherboard has a Z97 chipset [preferably] and a LG1150 socket)

For monitors, you won't notice a difference between 60hz and 144hz unless: you have used 144hz before or have them side by side. If i were you, i would buy a 60hz monitor and use the leftover money for something more productive.

Sorry guys, im not sure what my question is either. Agreed, PSU is 1st on my list. Thanks for the advice on the monitor. And the i5 is really gonna hurt my pockets and the 1150 socket is pretty much as dead as the AM3+ socket . Maybe?!? If I just over clock the sh*t out of the fx6300 will that suffice. Between the new PSU and watercooling(recommended?) Can I OC majorly? It would be nicer to my pocket for sure. And a HDD would really help with gta5 coming out soon. But theres $60 out of pocket. Also does anyone know the deal with Windows coming out. Is it 9,10 ,29? I have 7 now and its just not SSD optimised. (Or is it? Advice?)
Thank you guys and gals for all the advice so quckly. Thanks!

Intel changes their CPU sockets so much that I kind of lost count. I would just buy the best performance/priced Intel processor available for that CPU socket and stay with it for awhile.

Your motherboard is pretty bad for overclocking from all the reviews I saw online. I wouldn't have high expectations if you couldn't overclock the FX 6300 by much.

There is no Microsoft 9. This is probably due to marketing reasons. Windows 10 will be out soon or eventually. Windows 7 works perfectly fine with SSD.
