Random 1 second FPS drops in all games

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct thread but here goes.

I finally just upgraded my PC:

MSI z87 GD65 motherboard (new)
i7 4770k @ 3.5ghz (new)
8gb Ram
Sapphire 280x 3gb

The motherboard and cpu were the only two NEW components installed.

Anyhow my problem is in the games I play. I get random 1 second "freezes" I guess you can say where the fps drops really low but then goes back up to normal. So far it's happening in both world of warcraft and archeage.

What exactly could the problem be?

CPU temps are about 35 degrees with no load and about 45-50 while playing games. Heat is under control.

I have the i7 OC'd to 4ghz with voltage at around 1.120-1.128.

Any ideas?

Solution

wouldn't be the PSU and thats enough power for sure. I actually think the most probable thing is the lag you get from bad internet connection or server connection. Again, it happens to all of us. I gotta 770 and a 4690K at 4.4 and I get lag sometimes.

Well I'm going to keep testing games out to see if it happens in other games to but just had me worried some because I never had the problem before.

It's just a quick second or random fps stutters and then it's back to normal.

Mind you, I should add I have an Antec 650W power supply running this PC. Just making sure that's enough power? Because I read sometimes power supplies are the issue?

Alright, cause it doesn't seem to be happening in battlefield 4 from what I've seen. It seems JUST to be MMO genre games that its happening in. Must be server connection because I have a really good internet provider, connected straight through ethernet. I don't think the lags coming from my part.

I was just worried maybe something was wrong with my cpu.

MMOs have a reputation to be laggy from server connection. Dota 2 is a mess if you play that :)

P.S don't forget to pick best answer :3
