Im a newbie to comps but I installed a new gpu gtx 660 everything's fine and a new psu thermaltake t2 500w, my comp boots up but im getting no display on my monitor, I have no built in gpu either cause gateway blocked the ports out i had the radeon 7470
i reset the bios and everything whats the problem?

Solution
The GTX 660 only needs one 6-pin psu connection, in addition to a PCIe 3.0 slot and requires at least 450W PSU. Three beeps means the RAM isn't being recognized. The computer WILL NOT boot if the ram is not installed or is not being recognized.

in my first build i had the identical problem when i first booted. it was as simple as me not plugging any power into the GPU.

could be bad driver, or could be something like you only have 1-6 pin connector when you now need 2 (i ran into that upgrading from a 7770 to a gtx 770, didnt know better cards had more plugs)

it could also be something like the setting on your display is set to input from a different port because you are using a different connection from the card to the display. just thinking out of box...

GL.

Is the computer POSTING? Are you getting the beep?! You might have fried the mobo, if the fans are connected to the PSU they will still work because they are getting power.

Could require two six pin power connections in addition to it being in the slot. I've seen a few like that. Also could be that the MoBo isn't recognizing the card, in which you can change in the advanced BIOS settings. I hope this is of some help. GL.

Three beeps means no memory detected or no VGA detected. Try Re-Installing the RAM.

Whats your Mobo? There should be an immediate flash of options before windows starts (F2 for Setup, F8 for boot options)

Immediately after you start up the computer, either F2 or delete can usually bring up the BIOS (Delete key for me)
There should be a menu with either Advanced or Hardware depending on what your board is.
Access that menu and the sub menu should have some options for which video card to use.
Save your settings, reboot and should be peachy.
